The First Berserker: Khazan: Blade Nexus Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Blade Nexus checkpoints are the heartbeat of The First Berserker: Khazan — glowing purple-and-red blades planted across every mission that restore Khazan's health, replenish Consumables and Netherworld Energy, and open the full stat upgrade menu.

With 120+ Blade Nexus positions tracked across all 40 areas, MapMaster's Blade Nexus guide is the only resource mapping every checkpoint at its exact coordinate on the 40 hand-drawn maps built exclusively for this game.

Find the closest Blade Nexus to any boss, item, or shortcut without replaying from the mission start on MapMaster's The First Berserker: Khazan interactive maps.

What a Blade Nexus Does in The First Berserker: Khazan

Interacting with any Blade Nexus triggers an immediate full heal, restores all Consumable charges, and respawns every non-boss enemy in the area — the standard soulslike trade-off between safety and farming efficiency. From the Blade Nexus menu:

  • Upgrade Stats — spend Lacrima on five character stats: Vitality (health and resistances), Endurance (stamina and stamina recovery), Strength (physical attack power), Willpower (Netherworld Energy and skill damage), and Proficiency (critical rate and weapon mastery). Each upgrade raises Khazan's level by 1 and increases the Lacrima cost for the next.

  • Phantom Abilities — select which of the available Phantoms accompanies Khazan. Each Phantom provides unique passive stat bonuses that scale as it gains experience through combat. Phantoms are unlocked by finding their associated Ghost Items across missions — all Phantom-related NPCs and their positions are tracked in the NPC guide.

  • Khazan's Memories — access the Character Relationship Map, claim Vengeance Points from completed missions, and review story progression.

  • Travel — fast travel to any previously activated Blade Nexus, or return directly to The Crevice hub, where Soulstone upgrades and NPC services are available.

Regular vs Battered Blade Nexus: What's Different

Every entry in this guide is a Battered Blade Nexus — a damaged checkpoint that retains most but not all Blade Nexus functionality. Battered Blade Nexus cannot access Khazan's Memories and cannot travel directly back to The Crevice.

They allow: health and Consumable restoration, Upgrade Stats, Phantom Abilities, and fast travel to other activated Blade Nexus within the same mission. The first standard Blade Nexus is in Mount Heinmach at the crash site — the very first checkpoint in the game.

Upgrade Stats, Phantoms, and Vengeance Points

Lacrima is the primary upgrade currency, dropped on death at the location where Khazan fell. Return to that spot to recover it before dying again.

A mechanic unique to Khazan: if you die during a boss encounter after dealing enough damage, Lacrima is deposited at the boss entrance — claimable immediately on respawn without needing to fight back through the area.

Vengeance Points are one of the most overlooked mechanics in the game. Earned by completing main missions and Side Missions, but not collected automatically.

After finishing any mission, interact with any Blade Nexus, select Khazan's Memories, and hover over the completed mission — if Vengeance Points are available, they appear in grey; select them to claim.

Unclaimed Vengeance Points accumulate without expiring, so checking after every mission prevents a large backlog. They're spent on three offensive stats — Stamina Damage, Damage Output, and Damage Multiplier — and unlike Lacrima investments, Vengeance Point upgrades cannot be reset.

Stat respecs require a Primeval Regression Orb, sold by Merchant Danjin in The Crevice once he's available.

Fast Travel: How and When It Unlocks

Fast travel is not available from the opening of the game. It unlocks after completing Stormpass and defeating the Blade Phantom boss.

The post-boss Blade Nexus automatically teleports Khazan to The Crevice for the first time, and from that point, every activated Blade Nexus becomes a fast travel node.

From any standard (non-Battered) Blade Nexus, Khazan can also return directly to The Crevice at any time — essential for spending Lacrima safely before exploring a dangerous new area.

One Critical Warning at Stormpass

The Tempest Cliff Battered Blade Nexus in Stormpass sits at the end of a tunnel directly adjacent to the Blade Phantom boss fog gate.

Walking past it toward the fog gate without binding it first means dying in the fight respawns you at the previous Blade Nexus, forcing a longer route back to the boss entrance. Activate first, then fight.

All Blade Nexus Locations in The First Berserker: Khazan

The earliest Blade Nexus appear in Mount Heinmach (Blizzard Canyon, Frosty Cave Entrance, Frosty Cave's End, Yeti's Domain) and Stormpass (Snowfield of Trials, Frozen Lake, Cliff of Trials, Ice Canyon, Tempest Cliff).

Embars Ruins holds five confirmed Blade Nexus — from Corner Leading to the Abandoned Plains through Heart of the Forgotten Temple — each with position and approach notes in the checklist.

Nadin Quarry carries the highest single-area concentration with six Blade Nexus across its quarry paths and citadel sections.

Late-game areas — Imperial Palace (six Blade Nexus from Main Entrance through Celestial Tower), Great Temple (four Blade Nexus), and Temple of Shadows (three Blade Nexus) — are fully tracked in the guide.

Activating every Blade Nexus in the game contributes to 100% completion tracked in the Trophy guide.
